How to join the Society

Benefits of membership include:

Discounts at BFMS-sponsored events.

Reciprocity agreements that allow our members to attend events sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, and the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society at their member's rates.

Membership in the Society is open to anyone.
The cost for a 1 year membership is $27/year for individuals; $37 for families (2 or more people living at the same address).
You can save money with a multi-year membership:
2 years - $50 individual $71 family
3 years - $69 individual $93 family

Membership dues are tax-deductible.

Special Membership:
Contributor - $75
Supporter   - $150
Sustainer    - $250
Patron        - $500

A Student membership is available for $20/year.

Email addresses are not published, but may be used by the Society to send notices of coming special events.

With songs like All God's Critters, The Roseville Fair, Child of Mine, and River to his credit, Bill Staines has twenty-six recordings and has written over three hundred songs. His music is sung at campfires and folk music gatherings, in homes and churches, all around the country. What better way to hear him?

$15 at the door. Reservations necessary. Info: Barbara Svoboda, svob@comcast.net. Please note that this is a Sunday afternoon concert! There might be a potluck afterwards. If that materializes, I will let you know when I send the reminder letter the week of the concert.
