Free Contra Dance

This year, the Baltimore Folk Music Society is proud to participate again in Free Fall Baltimore by offering two Wednesday American Contra and Square dance evenings absolutely FREE. Join us for an evening of participatory American square & contra dance, accompanied by live music. No experience or partner needed – all dances are taught! Family-friendly event – we have dancers of all ages! Lesson offered at 7:30 pm, but feel free to join in at any time during the evening!

Cromwell Valley Park Fall Festival
BFMS will participate in the annual Fall Festival at Cromwell Valley Park On October 9 from 12-4. This is a great festival for the entire family, with music, activities, yummy food, and crafts for sale!
BFMS will once again have a singing circle and a great old time jam. This year the 4th at 4 Storyfolk will also sponsor a Liars Contest.
Bring your best Lie ( Tall Tale) and compete to win the Golden Shovel. There will be a Senior Division and a Junior Division for 18 and under.
The Festival is on the Willow Grove section of the park, which is the SECOND park entrance off Cromwell Bridge Road.
We are also seeking volunteers to man the BFMS flier/information tableFree admission to festival, However, a $5 parking donation per vehicle is requested to support this wonderful park. For more information or to volunteer to help: specialevents@bfms.org

The BFMS Family Dance is geared towards young children and
families. All ages are encouraged to attend. Dances are all
taught and dancing is to live music.This event is enjoyed by
children, parents, and grandparents as they dance and sing
together. $4 for member, $6 for non-members, children under

The Friendly Coffeehouse Open Mic is a BFMS-sponsored event, taking place on Second Fridays each month at 8 pm. It offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere for acoustic musicians, poets, storytellers and other folkies.
