BFMS Picnic
Join old and new friends for an afternoon of picnicking, fun, music, hiking, and bird watching, frisbee and relaxation at the beautiful Lake Roland Park! Much information about the park is available on their website: http://lakeroland.org.
Please bring a picnic lunch, a beverage, a table cloth, and a folding chair if possible.
New information from Roland Park: Lakeside Drive will be shut down for construction on our parking lot so we ask that your group parks in the MTA lot and walks into the park via the Boardwalk. You will be unable to unload at the pedestrian bridge near the dam due to this closure. If you need assistance with transporting your supplies from the MTA lot, you can call the Nature Center to request a staff member drive down and transport the supplies to the pavilion. Due to park activities, there may be a wait for this assistance.
Parking is limited in the park, so carpooling is helpful. You may also park at the Falls Road light rail station and walk to the park. If you have a disability, the park staff will assist you up the hill to the pavilion in a vehicle. You will need to make arrangements with the park directly. Please let us know also, so that we can further assist you.
The Mount Washington Whole Foods is nearby to purchase food for your picnic. Pepes restaurant is one of a number of good nearby restaurants to pick up food. It has delicious pizza and other yummy items. www.pepes6081.com
For further information or to volunteer to help, please e-mail picnic@bfms.org or call 410-979-8150
*Weather information: Light rain will not deter us, but in the event of a major storm, we may have to postpone the event to another day. Information will be posted on the BFMS website by 9:30 in the morning on 10/13, should that be the case.*
