Welcome to the BFMS Bulletin Board!

The purpose of this moderated forum is to foster communication and community among BFMS members. If you are a member, we hope you'll take advantage of this forum to post messages of interest to other members. These might include such things as:

* Questions or last-minute information about BFMS activities (eg., "Does anyone know where the sing-along is tonight?" or "Tonight's dance is on in spite of the snow!")

* Suggestions for possible BFMS activities

* Announcements of concerts, dances, festivals or other events of interest to BFMS members (especially all those worthwhile but obscure events that people wouldn't hear about otherwise )

* Gig announcements (your own or other people's) of interest to BFMS members

* Open mike or jam announcements

* "ISO" ads of interest to BFMS members (eg., "Contra dance band in search of cello for paid gig in D.C."; "Vocalists sought for informal a cappella group; must be able to sight read") Note: BFMS is only responsible for official BFMS postings. It is not responsible for postings by others.

* CD or concert reviews and recommendations of interest to BFMS members

* General exchange of information and opinions of interest to members (eg,"Can anyone recommend a good person to repair the busted-up Martin I just bought at the Goodwill?")

* Links to websites or articles of interest to members (eg., articles about BFMSers or folk music/dance in the news)

* Other comments, questions, discussion topics or posts related to the purposes of the BFMS, which are to promote the understanding, investigation, appreciation and performance of the traditional folk music, folk dance and folklore of the American people.
